Have you ever wondered which superhero our favorite superheroes played when they were kids? Uhm…themselves?
Andy Fairhurst seems to imply so in his series of artworks called Superhero Kids.
If Andy’s intention was to portray superheroes and super-villains as their younger selves playing their future selves, then he sure hit a jackpot with this one. Then again, even if these are just your ordinary kids playing in the backyard or in an open lot, he’s done his job well, too. Regardless, these kids playing before sunset takes you back to your younger days when every kid played outside without computer games, gadgets, and the internet. Playing was much more simpler then and no less fun.
Here’s how Andy introduces himself in his website:
“I'm Andy and I currently live in gorgeous North Wales with my wife and 3 kids. I'm a digital painter, which means I paint on my trusty iMac via a digital pen and tablet. I like to paint anything from fantasy and sci-fi to humorous cartoons. A lot of my works have been featured in magazines, in books and on book covers and I have received many awards from art websites such as devianART and CGSociety.
I am currently working on Official BBC licensed Doctor Who artwork depicting the many Women of Who over its last 50 years.
I have also written a children's novel, which I am extremely proud of and I'm in the process of painting promotional artwork for it.”
