Fox’s highly-anticipated and potential-filled show Gotham just released eight character posters to amp up viewers’ anticipation for the Fall. The posters are exclusive to Entertainment Weekly which feature images of each of the major characters set to appear some time in the series.
As you may have already heard, the most interesting aspect of the show is the backstory of each of the villains and how they eventually become evil. The trailer itself was so good that you can’t believe that it’s for a TV show and not a movie!
The posters don’t tell their super-villain names, of course, but their real names instead. Interestingly (or perhaps annoyingly), Poison Ivy’s name was changed for the show. Can they really do that? Apparently, they can. So the question now is why? Is Poison Ivy’s role in the show that important that you need to change her name? As comic fans know, her real name is Pamela Isley, which is a less revealing name for the villainess if she’s going to name herself Poison Ivy someday. My theory (and hope) is that she will have a name change soon to Pamela Isley for some reason and then all will be well again in the Batman universe.
Anyway, enough with the ranting and on to the images! Character descriptions below are from EW.
