Daniel Radcliffe, the kid who grew up in the world's eyes as Harry Potter, was interviewed by BuzzFeed where he revealed that his next dream franchise would be to star in…
“Batman. If they reboot that again I’ll do that too. It’s happening, isn’t it? With Ben Affleck. I could be Robin, I’m perfect.”
Now I know that just about every actor out there who wants to secure their career and ensure that they have projects for the next six to eight years, wants to be in a superhero film. Many have declared their intentions publicly that they want to play the part of a certain superhero or super-villain in a film. But sometimes, certain actors say it and everyone else agrees that he or she, does look the part. And that's exactly what you get with Radcliffe and his desire to play Robin.
He definitely has the look and the build to be the next Boy Wonder. Now that the Batman movie franchise will be starting again from scratch, Radcliffe has a chance to audition for the part should Warner Bros. and DC decide to reintroduce Robin into their new cinematic universe. It's almost a perfect fit as he still has that boyish look to pass off as a young ward to the Dark Knight. He doesn’t have to appear in the Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice yet, but he could come out in the Batman movie that Warner Bros. will come up with soon.
So if it were up to us (and Radcliffe), we'd pencil the guy for the role already. Of course, that's just wishful thinking on our part as well as Movie Pilot's Rose Moore, apparently. She wrote an article on “which Robin should Daniel Radcliffe play?” Moore’s concern is Radcliffe’s age, which is a legit concern. But I’m sure Warner can come up with a way to show a younger Robin in the beginning before he comes in to be the Boy Wonder for the duration of the film.
Personally, I would love to see him play the Dick Grayson version, the original (and still the best, in my opinion) Robin of all those who have donned the yellow, orange, and green tights. You can’t have the other Robins in any of the films yet without introducing the first one. Or can they?
Do you agree with me that Daniel Radcliffe is the best Robin out there or do you have another more suitable actor who should play the character?
